The Census Bureau's primary mission is conducting the U.S. Census every ten years, which allocates the seats of the U.S. House of Representatives to the States based on their population, as well as allocating over $400 billion in federal funds every year to the 50 States. The goal of the Census Bureau is to provide the best mix of timeliness, relevancy, quality, and cost for the data and services it provides.

As Office Operations Supervisor, my job was to provide leadership to a team of Office Clerks and Recruiting Assistants. We were tasked with recruiting and training over 1,000 Census Enumerators. To that end, we recruited using both online job applications as well as community outreach in the field. We then procured space in which to train these enumerators by contacting various non-profit organizations such as schools, libraries, community centers, houses of worship, etc. to donate training space and time.
